Stages 11-15 of the Languistique French Learning Path
Through five stages, you will develop the language needed to communicate independently, discuss familiar topics in greater depth and express your opinions with confidence.
Is Intermediate Level (B1) Right for You?
This level may be suitable if you:
- can communicate confidently in most everyday situations
- understand longer conversations and texts on familiar topics
- can discuss experiences, interests and future plans
- have completed A2 or have equivalent knowledge
- are ready to explore wider social topics and express opinions in French
CEFR B1 (Intermediate) is the third level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, an international standard for measuring language proficiency.
CEFR Levels:
A1 Beginner → A2 Elementary → B1 Intermediate → B2 Upper Intermediate → C1 Advanced → C2 Proficient
The Languistique French Intermediate Level corresponds to CEFR B1 (Intermediate) and covers Stages 11-15 of the Learning Path.
What Can You Do By the End of Intermediate (B1) Level?
By the end of Stages 11-15, you should be able to:
- discuss relationships, routines and personal experiences
- talk about hobbies, travel, music, films and television
- compare past and present situations
- express opinions, wishes and future plans
- discuss social and environmental issues
- justify viewpoints and develop arguments
- communicate confidently on personal, social and global topics

Throughout Stages 11-15, you will build vocabulary related to:

- household tasks and daily routines
- hobbies, holidays and leisure activities

- countries, nationalities and cultures
- feelings, priorities and future aspirations
